Lectionary Year B

Sunflowers follow the sun as it moves from east to west throughout the day.  They turn to face the sunlight. As Christians we face the Son-light as we celebrate the rising of God’s Son. The brilliant light of the resurrection shines light into the dark corners of our lives. We give thanks for this glorious gift and reflect the Son’s light into the world. This is an invitation to a new morning, a new life, a new hope. Here comes the Son, rising above the horizon at early dawn, setting at the end of the day, and sending the Spirit to begin a new dawn. This Easter we proclaim “Here comes the Son!” And follow the risen Son as a guide for life and faith.

At Beach Lake UMC, we live a life of worship that connects us to God and each other. I imagine our church as a welcoming community that invites all people to be part of God’s big picnic by the lake.
